there’s this creepy guy who has a brown squat building next door to where I live. I’ve lived here for more years than I’m willing to say, and this guy comes and goes at odd hours. You can’t see what he’s doing in there, because all the windows are boarded up from the inside, and he totally looks like this guy. Yeah, I couldn’t remember his name, so my google search was ‘weird cannibal guy who made bowls out of skin’, and he’s the first result.

Ed Gein. Dead ringer.

Anyway, many years ago this guy made his own ‘truck parking only’ sign and stuck it out in front of this hellhole. It looks surprisingly legit. I’ve even been ticketed for parking there. He drilled out a hole in the sidewalk, stuck his homemade sign in there, spray painted the curb yellow, and then parks his truck in front of it, so he’s basically taking up two spots in prime territory.

He’s always gone for the summer, up ‘fishing’ in Alaska. He does this every year, for as long as I’ve lived here. Probably a new killing ground, and he’s freezing bodies up there.

Anyway, I just got home late and I don’t know what the hell got into me. Maybe it was the sight of a window washing truck parked at the curb, with ladders up on its roof. I just went out there, worked that goddamn sign up out of the sidewalk, heaved it up onto the rack of that truck so it blended in among the ladders, and walked away, knowing that truck will drive away, disposing of ‘the body’ for me.

Am I as bad as Ed Gein?

Last night I mentioned that British actor/comedian Russell Brand’s turn as a guest on the Conan show was ridiculously funny…well, I finally found video of it and posted it here. Dude should get an Emmy nod for Funniest Guest, if is was such a thing, but I don’t think there is.

Loved him in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and he just keeps giving it. God, so quick, so talented. Thanks!
