I’ve been kind of keeping an eye out for a convex mirror lately, and I just ran into this lovely piece. The Arnolfini Portrait, by Jan van Eyck, dated 1434.
It is considered one of the most original and complex paintings in Western art. If you click on through to make it bigger, you can see the artist in the mirror.
