I feel like such a dork for weeping like a baby because of something someone said on Twitter, but ever since my mother died in January 2007, this quote actually means something to me. I think of it every time I pass a graveyard, and every time I remember our last goodbye. At the time I visited her in Northern Ireland in her final months, she wanted to see a West End musical in London with me. She suggested one that happened to be starring Patrick Swayze… and I’m ashamed to admit it, but at the time, I laughed. So I guess now she gets a command performance.

They actually mean something to me, too. In fact, I count on them. I still miss my dad who died on Valentine’s Day in 2006, and I still watch the Ghost Whisperer because of him. It was his favorite show when he was dying, and this is one of its main messages.
