My dear friend Rebecca has the best job. After moving to L.A. to follow her dream, she worked hard and landed well. Last night was spent laughing over stories I wish I could share in detail. But I suppose she wouldn’t have this great job if she blabbed all over the internet about it. Or let her proud friend do it for her.
Some things I can share…her largest client is Sony Pictures Classics. The films they put out, indies, foreign, have always been her favorites. Her latest award-winning film she worked on was Argo. (She got to fly on a private plane with Ben Affleck.) One of her most recent films was Before Midnight. One of her favorite clients is Alan Arkin. She’s had fun nights out with Aaron Paul. (Who, as it turns out, is a really good guy.)
She doesn’t get her photo taken with these people much at all, because that’s just not her. This is one of the rare occasions when she did. She and Richard Harris completely hit it off when they first met. As you can kind of see by this photo.
She doesn’t get starstruck too easy, which is probably why she gets along so well with these people. She leaves the starstruck stuff to me.
This is all crazy stuff for two girls who grew up in small towns, and went on to meet and work together at a video store, long ago.

We haven’t seen each other in years, but Rebecca just told me she follows my tumblr and meeting Buckley is like meeting a rockstar to her. That’s hysterical.
Catching up with the oldest of friends is one of my most favorite things ever.

I’m having a bit of a worlds colliding moment. I’m clearing out some files on this old work computer of mine (today is my 9 year anniversary here) and ran across this photo. I used to work at Getty with the gal on the right.
One night a bunch of us went out to see Maktub. Reggie Watts was the lead singer, and Kevin on the left there was the bass player.
Long story short, Kevin and Kara met, fell in love, got married and moved to Arizona. Reggie moved to New York and Maktub split up. Which I am still sad about.
One more worlds colliding moment? Reggie used to room with one of my best friends, who went on to move to L.A. She’s the gal in this photo with me and Jeff Goldblum I’ve been known to post from time to time. She’s coming back up for a visit next week. It’ll be the first time she’s been up here since we had this photo taken, and I can’t wait.
Buckley still laughs at my jokes so I must be doing something right.
