There was just a break in the clouds and I literally went, “Ooh!” and rushed to the window to see the sunshine. It’s gone now. I should probably rethink moving to places like Seattle.
I went to Seattle once. Stayed there for five days straight. Sun was out the whole time, and at one point I walked up to (what I think was) Puget Sound and I could see clear down to the bottom. (Of course, it was only the shoreline.) Which made me wonder if Seattle was really as gray and rainy as I’d always heard.
I recall reading somewhere that New York City is actually, um, rainier than Seattle. Can’t find that article right now, tho…
I love Seattle. It’s way sunnier than people say. I figure it’s a plot on the part of the locals to keep people from moving there.
Today is the first day it’s rained in about a week. It’s been gorgeous out. This has been one of the mildest winters I can remember in a long time. And it’s true. NYC does have more rain than Seattle. And so much for me carrying on the illusion. I could lose my license for that.
While cleaning out my storage unit I ran across this ooooold poster some friends had made up of me and my ex-husband. You can’t see them, but he’s holding a bottle of wine and a pack of Marlboros. I can’t see hanging it, and yet I can’t see tossing it, either. What to do…
And why do cats insist on getting their noses into everything.
It’s so strange when you meet someone “later” in life and then get a glimpse of what probably seems like a lifetime ago. Adorable young couple — you were probably the age of my kids!
That picture was taken the summer I turned twenty. A year later we got married, so you’re pretty damn close, A. ;)
Just watched the final episode of The Wire. Epic. Absolutely epic. I can’t think of a single thread left undone, and the final montage was a delight.
I fully intend to write reams and reams about this show pretty soon, but suffice it to say that all day at work tomorrow I will be reading fan-sites, trivia, and everything else I can get my hands on about the show.
I refrained from doing so over the last few months, just in case I got even the merest hint of a spoiler, but now I can do so without a care in the world. No doubt there are a 1,001 things that I missed, especially foreshadowing and what-not, and it’s going to be interesting to think back to the early series and how certain things eventually panned out.
The only problem is deciding what to watch next.
Watch it all over again… you’ll see stuff you didn’t notice the first time.
That’s exactly what I did. I watched it all over again and enjoyed it even more. But that’s been about a year now, so I think I’m about ready to do it all over again.
If you haven’t seen Firefly, watch that. And True Blood. And Dexter.
